Our teachers that are from Seattle studied at some of the best music schools in the area, such as the University of Washington or Cornell College of the Arts. Not only are they all excellent flutists, all of them play instruments other than the flute. Madrona flute Lessons For Kids
Most of our flute students are kids that range in age from 7-17 years old. Before starting flute lessons, it is important for them to be able to hold the instrument up. An average flute is only about 1.13 lbs, and students must be able to hold the instrument parallel. For these reasons, we recommend that your student be at least 7 or 8 years old before beginning the flute.

To that end, our teachers use a wide range of method books including: Rubank, Accent on Achievement, and Essential Elements.
