    About Tinca Belinschi

    Romanian violinist Tinca Belinschi performs widely as a chamber and orchestral musician. Tinca is currently one of the young artists in DaCamera Chamber Music program. Tinca holds awards from various national and international competitions, including John Oliveira String Competition, Alhambra Concerto Competition, Remember Enescu International Competition and The National Music Competition of Romania. Summer festivals appearances include the International Music Academy in Austria, Wintergreen Music Festival, Zeist Music Days Festival in Netherlands and Blackmore Music Academy in Berlin. Tinca participated in masterclasses with musicians such as Viktor Tretiakov, Alexander Pavlovsky, Emerson Quartet, Alban Berg Quartet and Stephan Picard, to name a few. Recent chamber music collaboration highlight is the performance of Weinberg Piano Quintet with Sarah Rothenberg and fellow DaCamera Young Artists at the Holocaust Museum in Houston. Other chamber music collaborations include performances with Christopher O’Riley at the Wintergreen Music Festival, Bergonzi Quartet and Sona Quartet as Young Artist in Residence at Mainly Mozart Music Festival.

    Tinca was a Young Artist in the DaCamera Young Artist program in Houston. She is a core member and substitute musician in different professional orchestras and ensembles, including Symphony of Southeast Texas, Wintergreen Festival Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera and Atlantic Classical Orchestra. Tinca recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from Lynn University, where she studied under the tutelage of Elmar Oliveira. She just recently finished playing a season with the Houston Mercury Orchestra.

    As an educator, Tinca has over four years of experience teaching all ages and skill levels. She is currently a faculty member at Campbell Learning Center, Spring School of Music and a visiting violin instructor at Travis Elementary School in Houston. She held a private violin studio at Lynn Preparatory School of Music in Florida from 2016 until 2019 and she was a mentor at Plumosa School of the Arts and Nat King Cole SummerStrings Music Camp in Palm Beach Country. She is now pursuing a Masters of Music Performance at Indiana University.

    Tinca’s teaching approach is tailored to fit each student’s needs and way of learning. Tinca’s teaching philosophy is based on creating a positive and nurturing environment for students, which has a great impact on their professional and personal development.
