Luke has spent over a decade freelancing and arranging in the Houston, TX, Austin, TX, and South Louisiana areas. An established trumpeter, arranger, and educator, Luke has known since middle school that he wanted to be a musician. While in high school, Luke played with the 225 Big Band based in Pasadena, TX for several years, most often as a lead trumpet.
While attending LSU, Luke was a founding member of the Tigerland Brass Quintet, who notably performed as the in-residence brass quintet for the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute in Denver, CO in 2016. Luke also played with several groups during his time in Baton Rouge, including various jazz ensembles, musical productions, and wedding bands. A big fan of Louisiana culture, Luke has also performed in several Mardi-Gras parades and considers South Louisiana as his home away from home.
Shortly after graduating from UT, Luke began touring with The Nightowls, one of Austin's premiere local bands. Performing with The Nightowls brought Luke to all ends of the United States, from Seattle, WA, to New York, New York, to Durango, CO. His most favorite memory of his time with The Nightowls was being invited to perform at Paisley Park in 2017, where he was able to perform for multiple musicians and producers who worked with Prince himself. When not on tour, Luke taught trumpet, jazz, and music theory lessons in several Austin area school districts, most notably in Georgetown, TX.
Luke's credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Louisiana State University and a Master's degree in Music Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. Luke also has interests in cooking, sports of all kinds, and building computers.
