    About Luanda Plasencia

    Luanda Plasencia is a violin, viola, cello and piano teacher born in Havana, Cuba. She began her musical studies at the age of 7, and continued her music education all the way up until her graduation from the Higher Institute of Art in Havana in 2009 with a degree in teaching violin and chamber music. Performance highlights include being first violinist of the Cuban traditional music orchestra "Siglo XX”, playing with the symphonic orchestra of the Gran Teatro de La Habana, and being a member of the Batoto Yetus project in New York.

    Luanda has performed and taught in several countries such as Angola, Portugal, and Venezuela, as well as several states within the United States such as Rhode Island, New York, Georgia and Texas. Her passion? Teaching! She aims to create new musical experiences for her students, and work alongside them to find their areas of interest within their instrument. She knows this approach fosters a life-long love for music.
