    About Jasmine Franklin

Jasmine Franklin was born in Kalamazoo, MI and first started singing in the children's choir at church. In 6th grade she tried out for her first musical "Bugsy Malone" and landed the role of Fizzy; this was a life-altering experience and Jasmine has been passionate about performing ever since. She was involved in choir and theatre throughout her school years and trained with private voice and piano teachers before attending Howard University in Washington, DC. She received her degree in Radio, Television & Film with a concentration in Audio Production and a minor in Theatre Arts.

Jasmine has traveled as a competitive singer winning several titles, cash prizes, scholarships and awards. She's performed at lounges, clubs, concert halls, parks, etc. and opened up for artists such as August Alsina, Fabolous, K. Camp, Dawn Richard and more. She's been featured on radio stations and has performed on air live.

Jasmine is also a signed recording artist who is currently working on her fourth studio album. At the age of 15 she produced and released her first album, which helped fund her college education. Within recent years, Jasmine traveled to Ghana for an all-expenses-paid trip as a featured singer for a National Ministerial Convention. Currently, she is completing a project that will be released in 2019 overseas in Denmark and Germany.

Jasmine has a passion for fine arts and service to the community. Being able to share her passion while inspiring others brings her great fulfillment. Furthermore, Jasmine has years of experience working in education as a middle school choir/ theatre director and as an elementary music director. She wants each of her students to learn the importance of hard work, believing in themselves, and having a mindset to exceed expectations. There are no failures, only opportunities for growth. Jasmine helps students learn by first getting to know them on a personal level and building individual relationships with each student. Inquiring about each student's passions and goals allows her to tailor her lesson plans to cater to each student as an individual. By encouraging the understanding of the fundamentals of music and theory, Jasmine teaches her students to be scholars of their talents. Jasmine is honest, energetic, hands-on and engaging, and is a wonderful choice for students of all ages.
