About Willow McKean

Willow McKean is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose creative work spans music, performance, and visual design. A pianist, vocalist, technician, composer, actress, digital artist, and graphic designer, she brings a rare versatility and depth of experience to every project she undertakes. From a young age, this Eagle Scout has built a reputation for excellence, innovation, and a deep commitment to inspiring others through the arts.

Willow began her musical journey at the age of six and quickly developed a love for piano as a means of self-expression. By twelve, she was performing at a professional level, interpreting advanced works such as Scott Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag and Beethoven’s Sonata Pathétique. She has since refined her artistry under the guidance of world-class educators, including Imre Patkai, head educator at The Music Institute of North Texas, and Corbin Sturch, head of piano technology at the University of Houston.

Her creative endeavors extend well beyond the piano bench. Willow has sung with the Texas All-Region Choir, composed original music for video games such as Spiral Scape, and performed leading roles in theatrical productions including Once Upon a Mattress and Tarzan: The Musical. As a recording artist, she has released multiple albums under her solo moniker Eureka Matter and as part of the band Saturn Rave. Her visual artistry is also showcased through collaborations with musicians such as Mel Dovinté, for whom she has created album and single artwork.

As an instructor, Willow has taught students ranging in age from preschoolers to retirees, helping each one build confidence, discipline, and joy through music. She believes that strong teacher–student relationships are at the heart of meaningful learning, and that with encouragement and trust, every student can achieve extraordinary things.
