Wendell Mitchell Jr. is a dedicated music educator from Kansas City, Kansas. After graduating from high school, he pursued his passion for music by studying at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His time at Southern helped shape his musical foundation and commitment to education. He later earned a Master’s Degree from Grand Canyon University, further strengthening his professional expertise. Wendell has spent the past eight years serving as a middle and high school band director. Throughout his career, he has focused on building strong relationships, musicianship, and discipline in his students. Most recently, he expanded his teaching experience by adding 4th grade band to his resume. This new role has allowed him to reach students at an even earlier stage of their musical development. Wendell believes in the power of music to inspire confidence, teamwork, and creativity. He is excited to help foster and support student growth throughout their music education journey.
