    About Robert Barfield

    Robert Barfield is an experienced music educator and band director with 30+ years of teaching and performance experience. He has worked with students of all ages, from beginners to advanced musicians, helping them develop strong fundamentals, musical confidence, and a lifelong love of music. Throughout his career, Robert's ensembles have performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Chicago Symphony Hall, New Orleans, Boston, San Francisco, Colorado Springs, Savannah, and Montreal. His groups also earned consistent Sweepstake awards at UIL, and his marching band was a 6 time Bands of America National Class Champion.

    Robert specializes in teaching woodwind and brass instruments as well as piano and music fundamentals, focusing on tone production, technique, music reading, and expressive performance. His lessons are structured, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style.

    As a longtime band director, Robert has helped hundreds of students grow not only as musicians but also as disciplined, confident individuals. Whether a student is just getting started, or preparing for auditions, Robert is passionate about helping each student reach their full musical potential.
