Rob Deutschman has been immersed in music from a very early age. His piano journey began on his family’s piano and has since taken him across the country, performing for countless audiences and composing hundreds of original works. In addition to piano, Rob plays trumpet and works regularly with major labels to produce and master recordings for a variety of artists.
Rob earned his degree from the University of Houston in 2018 and immediately began his career in the music industry. He studied under Krishna Frazier at In Life Records for two years, where he honed his skills in music production and composition. Since then, Rob has released seven full-length studio albums and is currently hard at work on his eighth. During this time, he also co-founded the band Suede Sunbeam with guitarist Cameron Wieman and drummer Kaemen Saenz. He continues to perform weekly at venues throughout the Houston area.
Rob began teaching piano in 2019 and has loved every moment of it. Over the years, he has taught thousands of lessons to students of all ages and takes pride in sharing the joy of music with anyone eager to learn. While he specializes in Jazz and Blues, his playing and teaching remain deeply rooted in Classical music.
Rob’s teaching philosophy centers on creativity, expression, and fun. He believes anyone can learn to play an instrument with enough dedication, and that music is a gift meant to be shared. By leading through example, Rob aims to cultivate musical fluency in each of his students, emphasizing clarity and confidence in understanding musical concepts so they can freely explore and grow as musicians.
