About Rebekah Johnson

Rebekah Johnson, a Houston native, began piano lessons at the age of seven. Though initially hesitant, she grew to love the instrument as she developed new skills, explored a variety of musical styles, and discovered a deep appreciation for music.

She went on to study music at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where she trained under esteemed pianists Dr. Juan Pablo Andrade and Dr. Kenneth Saxon. During her time there, Rebekah gained extensive experience accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists, and performing in duets—experiences that taught her the importance of listening, collaboration, and musical expression.

After earning her degree, Rebekah began her teaching career as a middle school choir director and currently serves as a elementary music teacher within the public school system. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a supportive, engaging environment where students feel both challenged and inspired. She brings together her classical training and classroom experience to help each student grow in confidence, creativity, and musicality—while having fun along the way.
