Kendall Sandhop has been making music since 1999 and teaching for more than a decade. He works with students of all ages—children, teens, and adults—teaching guitar, bass, piano, and songwriting.
Kendall studied music at Lone Star College, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree and performed in the jazz band on both guitar and bass. He later went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication – Creative Media from Oklahoma Christian University, where he performed as the guitarist in the Spring Sing Band and worked in Eagle Media’s live productions. These diverse experiences not only strengthened his musicianship but also gave him a deep understanding of performance and production.
He believes music should be both fun and inspiring, while also equipping students with the tools to grow. Some of his favorite moments as a teacher include watching a student play a song they once thought impossible or guiding them through the process of finishing their very first original piece.
Outside the classroom, Kendall writes and performs with his band, Marble Statues, and draws inspiration from a wide range of styles, from classical guitar to rock and jazz. Whether a student’s goal is to jam with friends, perform on stage, or simply play for personal enjoyment, Kendall meets them where they are and helps them take their next musical step.
