Joy Henderson is a native of Spring, Texas. Her love for music began at an early age when she began to participate in the church youth choir. After getting involved in many other fine arts, such as dance and painting, she finally decided to settle on music when reaching middle school. Since age 11, Joy studied piano and voice privately. After succeeding in high school vocal competitions, Joy decided to keep a focus on music and attended Sam Houston State University.
While at Sam Houston State University as a Music Therapy student, Joy learned how to play the guitar, percussion, woodwinds, brass and stringed instruments. Her love and passion for music allowed her excel and receive her Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy and Minor in Vocal Performance from Sam Houston State University in 2010.
Joy is President and director of her church choir and also participates in a local community choir. Although Joy is currently employed full time as an 8th Grade English Teacher, she still finds time to enjoy sharing her love of music through teaching and performing.
