Jose Segovia is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Music Education at Lonestar College. Jose is a tenor, and has been performing since 2013. He has had the pleasure of singing under the baton of Dr. Paulo Gomes and Dr. Craig Jessop, and studies voice with Dr. Zachary Bruton. His experiences with a variety of knowledgeable teachers allows him to share the many valuable skills he has learned with his own voice and piano students. Throughout his collegiate career, Jose has participated in numerous performances, including playing the role of Samuel in Pirates of Penzance, and singing with the prestigious Texas All State Choir. Jose has also served in a leadership role at Lonestar, acting as the president of the Singer's Club.
Jose is excited to be a meaningful part of this students' connection with music. As a music educator, Jose believes that students should be valued as musicians and as people, regardless of the specifics of a student's musical journey and accolades. Music is an amazing way to teach students of all ages how to approach the different challenges and successes life brings our way.
