Always pursuing his love for music, Jhonathan Guevara has dedicated his life to nurturing both his own artistry and that of his students. His musical journey began with choral singing and expanded to include piano, clarinet, and music composition.
He studied music at the University of St. Thomas and has performed with several distinguished ensembles, including the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Choir under Dr. Richard Lopez and Dr. Dan Girardo, and the Houston Cecilia Chamber Chorus led by Cantor and Composer Gonzalo Ramos. Jhonathan has participated in numerous notable performances, such as the Summer Sacred Music Festivals sponsored by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, the 175th Anniversary Mass and Dinner at the Hilton Americas-Houston, and multiple In Memoria concerts. Beyond these formal engagements, he shares his gift with the community by performing at local retirement homes, including annual Christmas caroling at The Waterford in Baytown and The Lodge at Pine Creek.
Teaching is one of Jhonathan’s greatest passions. He has taught voice and piano lessons at Sacred Heart Catholic School and offered music composition classes to students in Baytown. He finds joy in guiding students as they develop their skills and discover their own love for music through diverse forms of expression.
