Emilio Rodriguez is a Houston-based musician and composer whose passion for music began at the age of eight, when his parents gifted him his first electric bass. That moment sparked a lifelong dedication to music, which continued to be his primary focus alongside his college studies.
Emilio began his formal training under respected Houston instructors José and Julio Pecina and has since expanded his skills to include multiple instruments, with special expertise in guitar and piano. Over the years, he has performed with a variety of local Houston groups, spanning genres from Spanish folk to rock. He remains an active member of several ensembles, including Mariachi Oro de mi Tierra, where he performs on bass, and Grupo 45, where he plays lead guitar.
With more than fifteen years of performance experience, Emilio has appeared at many of Houston’s premier venues, such as the Wortham Theater Center, the Hobby Center, Miller Outdoor Theatre, and Discovery Green. He completed music studies at both the University of St. Thomas and Lone Star College.
As a teacher, Emilio welcomes students of all ages and experience levels. He believes that with dedication, patience, and a genuine love for music, anyone can develop the skills to become a confident musician.
