Music has been an important part of Dylan’s life for as long as he can remember. He began playing the piano at the age of five, and over the years, his love for music has grown into a passion for teaching, performing, and helping others discover their own musical abilities.
Dylan currently teaches music at a private school and leads worship at his church. Both roles have given him the opportunity to work with musicians of different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels while continually growing as both a musician and an educator.
His teaching style is relaxed, patient, and encouraging. Dylan believes that learning an instrument should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, especially in the beginning. Rather than overwhelming students with technical details right away, he first gives them the opportunity to become comfortable with their instrument. His goal is for each student to feel confident exploring, asking questions, and developing a genuine excitement for making music.
As students become more comfortable, Dylan gradually introduces the fundamentals of their instrument, including proper technique, posture, music theory, and the skills needed to become confident, well-rounded musicians. He adapts his lessons to each student’s individual pace, goals, interests, and learning style so they can continue making progress while enjoying the process.
Whether a student is picking up an instrument for the very first time or looking to strengthen skills they already have, Dylan strives to create a welcoming and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable challenging themselves and growing as musicians.
Dylan is comfortable teaching students of all ages and skill levels. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching for him is helping each student discover what they are capable of through music.
Outside of music, Dylan enjoys traveling the world, and supporting the Houston Astros!
