Mr. Chase is a Houston area native that has been playing music his entire life. His music education began with the trombone in his school band, and soon after, led to guitar lessons with a focus on improvisation under the tutelage of Bruce Brown. Mr. Chase formed his first garage band at age 12, and went on to play gigs across Texas throughout his teenage years. He received his formal education from jazz guitarist, Eve Woodard, at Houston Baptist University, from which Mr. Chase holds a Bachelor’s of Music Degree. Throughout his 20s, Mr.Chase completed several US tours. He and his band were featured in national music publications such as Pitchfork and Stereogum, as well as Houston newspapers, including the Houston Chronicle, Houston Press, and Houstonia. Mr. Chase has also been a staple performer in local festivals such as Free Press Summer Fest and Day For Night Festival.
Mr. Chase has taught hundreds of students over the past 10 years from every background and walk of life. He strives to provide a holisitic education for his students, and because of his strong background in performance and songwriting, he also encourages students to create and get up on stage.
