About Brooke Hord

Brooke Hord is a drummer and percussionist based in the Kansas City area with a strong passion for both performance and teaching. She began playing drums at the age of eight and has continued developing her musicianship across drumset, percussion, vocals, music theory, and music production.

Brooke earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Technology from the University of Central Missouri, where she participated in wind ensemble, jazz band, and percussion ensemble. Her studies emphasized creativity, composition, recording practices, sound design, and live performance production, giving her a well-rounded and modern approach to music education.

With several years of private teaching experience, Brooke enjoys working with students of a wide range of ages. She focuses on building strong fundamentals such as proper technique, rhythm, and music reading, while encouraging students to explore creativity and develop their own musical voice. In addition to percussion, she also teaches piano and voice.

Brooke believes music should be both confidence-building and joyful. She values steady growth at each student’s pace and strives to make lessons engaging, supportive, and inspiring, whether a student is working toward specific goals or simply discovering the fun of making music.
