    About Alicia Villagomez

Alicia Villagomez is a lifelong music enthusiast with a deep passion for the arts of music, music production, and teaching. Her journey began as a child with studies in piano, voice, and songwriting. These experiences led her to perform with contemporary bands and in church settings, building a foundation that would shape her entire career.

In 2001, Alicia earned an Associate's Degree in Music Arranging, Composition, and Production, followed by a second Associate's in Audio Recording Technology in 2003. Throughout the 2000s, she balanced an active performance life as both a solo artist and with local bands, while also managing keyboard and recording sales at Guitar Center. There, she developed a strong reputation with musicians across the Houston area.

In 2010, a part-time role as a studio lab aide at Houston Community College reignited her academic ambitions. Helping students bring their creative projects to life inspired her to pursue further study at the University of Houston Moores School of Music, where she concentrated in piano performance. There, she prepared and performed works by Bach, Chopin, Mozart, Grieg, Beethoven, and others in studio, jury, and recital settings, and sang with the esteemed Moores School choirs. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a minor in Philosophy.

Concurrent with her studies, Alicia served as an Adjunct Professor of Audio Engineering at Houston Community College and maintained a private teaching studio offering piano and voice instruction at several music schools throughout Houston.

In 2019, Alicia launched her own independent teaching practice. Her students begin with the fundamentals of piano and voice, progressing through advanced intermediate classical repertoire and into lead sheet arranging and collaborative performance.

Alicia holds certification as an Elementary Piano Specialist through the Royal Conservatory of Music (2024) and is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
