    About Sean Roberts

Sean is a Piano Instructor based in northern Virginia. Though jazz is his primary performance focus and part of his educational background, he has experience playing and studying a wide variety of styles, including classical and pop. He is currently a student at George Mason University, pursuing a degree in music education.

Sean has played music as long as he can remember. He first started picking out songs and writing his own compositions on the piano when he was six years old. Growing up, he learned and played many other instruments as well, including flute, harmonica, bass, and drums. In 2018 he began attending Northern Virginia Community College, where he studied music for two years before transferring to George Mason. At this time he began giving private music lessons to students of all ages, primarily on piano. As a student at Mason, Sean has been working to hone his skills as a Jazz pianist, while also performing in a variety of ensembles, including choirs, jazz combos, and brass bands. He has also done professional jazz piano gigs, and worked as a church pianist.

Sean loves music, and is excited to share that love of music with others. He hopes to help students of all ages and experience levels to grow as musicians.
