    About Rafael Caro

Music has been at the center of Rafael Caro’s life for more than 15 years. A multi-instrumentalist, music instructor, producer, and performer, Rafael has built a career that spans guitar, drums, bass, vocals, violin, viola, music production, songwriting, and live performance. He studied Business Administration at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business while completing a minor in Music Industry through the USC Thornton School of Music. His musical journey began at a young age, eventually leading him to study and perform at a high level as an electric guitarist before expanding his creative work into production, electronic music, and education.

As a performer, Rafael has had the opportunity to play for audiences across the country at venues including The Troubadour, Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, Ogden Theatre, Academy LA, Qualcomm Stadium, and many others. His career has taken him from touring as a lead guitarist to performing original electronic music as a producer and DJ. His original releases have accumulated hundreds of thousands of streams, earned multiple Top 10 placements on Beatport, appeared on Apple Music editorial playlists, and received international radio support. Throughout his career, Rafael has remained fascinated by the many ways music can connect performers, audiences, and communities.

Teaching has become one of the most meaningful parts of Rafael’s musical life. He has taught guitar, drums, voice, bass, ukulele, violin, cello, and music production to students ranging from young beginners to adults and pre-professional musicians. Rather than approaching every student in the same way, Rafael believes lessons should reflect each student’s personality, interests, learning style, and individual goals. His focus is not only on developing strong technique and musicianship, but also on creating an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, and discovering what excites them about music.

Rafael especially enjoys helping young musicians experience the excitement of accomplishing something they once thought was difficult or impossible. Whether a student is learning their first chord, developing a drum groove, improvising a solo, writing an original song, or preparing for a performance, he believes confidence grows through patience, structure, creativity, and genuine encouragement. Seeing students become excited to return to their lessons each week is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for him.

Outside of teaching, Rafael continues to write, produce, perform, explore new musical technology, and develop his skills across multiple instruments. His experience as a performer and producer continually influences the way he teaches, allowing him to show students that music can become much more than something practiced during a lesson. It can become a lifelong source of creativity, confidence, connection, and self-expression.
