To say that Patrice Morrison loves music is an understatement. Patrice has been playing the piano since 1972. Having grown up in Memphis, Tennessee, in a musical household, she was exposed to all genres of music and loves them all. Some of her favorite artists include Elvis Presley, Tony Bennett, Michael Bublé, Mozart, Bach, Chopin, Tim McGraw, and Chris Tomlin just to name a few.
Patrice worked in Public Education for twenty-five years and has taught private piano lessons for several years. She believes that every child can learn, and has a passion for teaching beginner students. Her philosophy is “You Can Do It!” She includes theory, technique, and composition in her lessons. She also incorporates fun games to help students enjoy music.
Mrs. Morrison was a Worship Leader for fifteen years at Haltom City Christian Church. She plays keyboard for her church praise band every Sunday and sings in the choir. One of her favorite nights is the all church Valentine’s banquet. The band provides musical entertainment for the banquet which includes a large variety of oldies and contemporary music that people can sing along and dance to.
Mrs. Morrison has sung in choirs since middle school. She is an active member of the Singing Women of Texas-North Chapter. She sung with the Naperville Community Chorus while in high school. She has also sung with the Denton Community Chorus, been invited to sing with other area church choirs, and sung in volunteer choirs for Christian artists Chris Tomlin, the Getty’s, and Michael W. Smith.
