About Nels Noel

Originally from in Topeka, Kansas, Nels first picked up the guitar at the age of 8 and hasn’t looked back since. He is passionate about working with kids and improving his student's ability at the piano and guitar. Nels has studied under professional guitarists such as Rick Taylor and Lori Buonamici. Following the methods in which he was taught, he puts more emphasis on the mechanical/skillful aspects of playing guitar and piano when teaching, so that students are able to progress quickly. Ultimately, it is his goal for students to find growth and love in playing music.

When he isn’t teaching, Nels works at Camp Lighthouse during his summers, which is a camp given for free to underprivileged kids in the area. There, he leads his campers in playing games, swimming, fishing, singing and dancing, and exploring the campsite. Due to his experience working with kids, Nels is calm and patient toward his students. He believes any person has the potential to learn how to play the guitar and piano well. He can adapt to any student and change his approach to accommodate their needs and learning style.
