Michael Back is a dedicated music educator based in South Florida who is passionate about working with students of all ages, from young beginners taking their very first steps in music to adults continuing or rediscovering their musical journeys. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, where he developed a strong foundation in both musicianship and pedagogy. His professional experience spans K–12 classrooms as well as higher education, giving him a comprehensive understanding of how students learn and grow at every stage of development.
In addition to his teaching experience, Michael has worked in instructional design, a background that has meaningfully shaped his approach to lesson planning and curriculum development. He thoughtfully crafts engaging, creative, and well-structured learning experiences tailored to the unique goals and abilities of each student. Above all, Michael is committed to sharing the joy of music while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning. He strives to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel empowered to explore, take risks, and thrive as both musicians and individuals.
