    About Kristin Gonzalez

"To give my students the tools they need to freely express themselves for the first time, through music. That's why I teach." Kristin Gonzalez has been teaching music for over 3 years and has studied it for nearly 20 years. As a multi-instrumentalist she has taught her students to play flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, baritone sax, ukulele, classical guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano, glockenspiel, harmonica, and voice (soprano/alto/tenor/baritone/bass).

She considers her primary instrument to be her jazz-style soprano voice. She has also been formally trained in woodwinds and guitar. Her performance experience ranges from Carnegie Hall to Manhattan's Giants and Yankees Parades to recording studios, music videos and the famous tourist traps of West Europe. "I prefer the classroom to the stage," Kristin says. "The stage can be an exhilarating place for a musician, I like creating that opportunity for my students."

Kristin graduated with her Bachelors in 2017 from State University of New York in Plattsburgh where she studied Voice, Saxophone and Environmental Studies. In addition to teaching and performing, she has continued her studies at City University of New York in Queens where she studies Communication Disorders and Sciences to better assist students with disabilities.
