About Katharine LaCour

Katie LaCour is a Northern Virginia based Piano Instructor who works with students of all levels and ages.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Pedagogy from Campbell University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Katie has taught private piano lessons at schools, studios, and in homes for over twelve years, preparing students for recitals, band practices, accompanying, and personal enjoyment. She loves to work with students of all ages, helping them develop their talents and experience the joy of making music. Her students are characterized by a love of music, an empowerment to pursue and expand their musical interests, and a positive mindset geared towards growth.

Katie's love of teaching extends past music, and she traveled abroad as an English teacher for several years before returning to the United States. She is an intermediate speaker of Mandarin Chinese and hopes to one day extend her travels to every continent! In her spare time, she enjoys movies, traveling, and, of course, music.
