    About Julia LiBassi

Julia LiBassi started playing piano at the age of 5 under the Suzuki method. She now holds a BA in Music from Metropolitan State University where she graduated with special honors and a 4.0, a BA in Literature from Tufts University and a Professional Certificate in Film Scoring from Berklee Online. She has been teaching privately for 13 years.

Julia began recording her own music in high school and transitioned into playing in bands in college. For years she played around the Boston music scene before moving to Denver with her soon-to-be Husband - a musician also. They started the Denver band The Raven and the Writing Desk that would perform together for 12 years in different configurations, record multiple albums and EPs and tour the western half of the US. She played various music festivals including the UMS for 9 years, the Westword Music Showcase for 8 years, Treefort Music Festival in Boise for 5 years and many more memorable shows including one at Red Rocks. She also scored two small independent films out of London in 2019.

Julia is a lifelong student. She believes that being inspired is the key to being a good teacher, which is why she continues to expand her own knowledge. Each one of Julia’s students gets a unique curriculum catered to their learning style, interests and personality. Most importantly, she will find what inspires them.
