Joanna Lung is a student at the University of Central Florida working towards a music performance degree. She got into music in middle school band and has not stopped since. Over the years she has learned and taught Saxophone, clarinet, piano, and guitar.
Joanna has an extensive performance experience, having been principal saxophone in UCF's premiere wind ensemble the past 3 years. She had the amazing opportunity of playing a saxophone concerto accompanied by wind ensemble at Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center after winning the 2022-2023 UCF Concerto Competition. She was runner up to the 2022-2023 UCF Music Excellence competition. Besides classical music, she has played in a jazz trio, gigging around central florida, from restaurants to weddings.
She has experience with teaching students and peers of all ages in a range of different instruments. What is most important is that the student has a good time and feels empowered! Seeing students grow and blossom is extremely satisfying. Not only is the student learning in every lesson, but the teacher too.
