About Jen Kwon

Jen was born in Seoul, Korea and had her first music lesson at age six by her aunt, who was music major, and also her inspiration. Jen was classically trained for the next 12 years of her life in piano, nine in flute, and four in violin. Jen studied music theory and composition for two years while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Finance at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. It was during this time that she fell in love with the improvisational aspect of music she spends time performing jazz piano while constantly composing various genres of music.

Jen is a highly skilled pianist and has won numerous awards for her performances. However, it is her passion for teaching that truly sets her apart. She believes that anyone can learn to play the piano, regardless of age or ability, and she is committed to helping her students achieve their full potential. Jen’s teaching style is highly personalized and tailored to the individual needs of each student. She works closely with her students to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and she creates customized lesson plans that are designed to help them achieve their goals.
