    About Jacob Feingold

Jacob is a multi-instrumental instructor who teaches Violin, Viola, Guitar, and Bass Guitar. He has a diverse musical background and a passion for sharing the joy of music with musicians of all ages and skill levels.

Jacob has performed with renowned ensembles like the Empire State Youth Orchestra and the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra, and in venues such as Carnegie Hall. He has studied violin and viola performance with current and former faculty from the Colburn School and Juilliard, and studied chamber music performance at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music and the UChicago Chamber Music Program. Beyond performance, Jacob studied classical music theory, composition, and history from the music department at the University of Chicago. Among his accomplishments, Jacob was selected as one of only 21 students for the 2017 Philadelphia International Music Festival Solo Performance Preparation Program.

Beyond his own musical journey, Jacob has shared his expertise teaching beginner violin and viola to 4th and 5th graders through Empire State Youth Orchestra’s CHIME Program. In all his endeavors, Jacob fosters a nurturing and empathetic learning environment, emphasizing that music is a source of joy that generously rewards dedication and passion.

Jacob firmly believes that learning to play an instrument goes beyond technical proficiency and competition readiness; it offers a unique opportunity to connect deeply with music and unlock profound emotional engagement that transcends passive listening. His mission is to equip his students with the tools needed to create a rich musical experience for themselves and to spread the boundless joy of music to those around them.
