About Grant Slater

Grant Slater teaches the guitar and is a college student at Texas Christian University. He was born in Mesa, Arizona, and was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He loves music because it gives him the freedom to express himself and dive deep into the songs he loves, as well as make his own. He likes listening to all sorts of music from Johnny Cash and the Highwaymen, to Eagles, and Led Zeppelin. As a musician, Grant has performed in the past at his church, and currently plays in a small band in north Texas covering a large variety of songs and medleys. Outside of music, he loves the outdoors, enjoys fishing and hunting, and rock climbing.

When it comes to being a teacher, developing a strong connection between him and the student is crucial for him, and helping someone be able to play music and fully indulge in it is a gift he desires to give to whomever he can. He loves working with people, especially when he is teaching because it makes him feel good and is another way of many he is putting his music practices to use.
