About Denise Miersma

Denise Miersma has been teaching piano for over 35 years and is known as being a patient and thorough teacher. She began her studies at the age of 7 and accompanied her school choirs from 6th to 12th grade. She also played piano and organ for her church and has accompanied many ensembles and soloists for performances and competitions as well as social events. She attended Cal State Fullerton as a Piano Performance Major.

Her goal is to share her passion and love for music with each of her students and to build relationships with them while also teaching the discipline of daily practice. Lessons are tailored to meet each child’s personality and uniqueness with an emphasis on basic concepts and includes theory, technique and ear training.
