    About Christopher Medina

Christopher Medina was born and raised in Miami, Florida and began his musical journey in middle school at the age of 10. He would begin teaching music in high school, directing the Jazz Club. Christopher would also teach Theory and Jazz/Rock Ensemble classes at the University of Miami’s Young Musician Camp over the summer while he lived in Miami. He would later move to Orlando to further his own education at the University of Central Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies in 2019 with his primary instrument being Guitar. While pursuing his degree, Christopher Medina taught at Aenlle School of Music (ASM Studios), where he taught students studying guitar, piano, music composition, and music production for 5 years.

Christopher toured and recorded with the University of Central Florida’s Flying Horse Big Band and is featured on their chart-topping album Good News (2019). Christopher has performed with and learned from Jazz greats such as Ira Sullivan and Frank Vignola. While his musical education has been primarily Jazz centric, he is no stranger to more contemporary styles of music like Blues, Rock, and Pop. Christopher has honed his technique by studying players like Frank Gambale, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Mayer, and many others. He has used these skills in a myriad of settings from convention bands to his own musical projects, often blending many styles together.

Christopher has taught lessons to all ages and demographics; from children as young as the age of 5 to adults in their late 70’s. He has experience teaching students with special needs such as Autism and speech deficits. Christopher exercises great patience with his students and caters his lessons to his student’s interests; forming a curriculum for them that is both effective and fun every step of the way. He uses his over-a-decade of performing and teaching experience to show students the ropes of being a professional musician and how to be the best musician they can be.
