Teacher Profile: Chris Fenger

About Chris Fenger

Chris is a multi-instrumentalist composer from Greensboro, North Carolina. Chris first started his musical journey as a young child with the cello. Soon after he picked up the guitar and has been an avid player of both since then. Having played as an all-state cellist in the state and city orchestra in high school, Chris continued along the classical track in college, joining the orchestra and multiple chamber groups. Soon he transferred his hobby of music production towards composition.

As a composer at Emory, Chris debuted multiple pieces with student chamber groups and professional quartets. He also debuted a sound installation at the Carlos Museum. He was the winner of the Blumenthal Grant, as well as grants from the Emory College Center for Creativity and Arts and the Emory Friends of music. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2021.

Now, Chris works in music management for Yonas Media, as well as playing in numerous bands in Atlanta. As a composer, Chris aims to make lessons a fun and creative process while also ensuring that you the student have the necessary structure and guidance you need to make learning feel effortless.
