Bazil Gillen grew up in Denver, Colorado, and took up drumming at around age ten. He has since then studied/played in the Denver music scene for over 10+ years. His music background includes an eclectic array of styles and diverse musical scenarios.
After obtaining his Associate of Arts from Red Rocks Community College and a certificate in Audio Production from Warren Tech, he continued his education in the form of a Jazz performance degree, studying with Dru Heller at MSU Denver. Besides his jazz studies, Baz is playing all styles of music and has something to teach to just about anyone.
These days, his music career consists of a steady flow of local shows/studio work, U.S. tours, and private lessons with students of all ages/backgrounds. Since first starting to teach in 2020, Baz has since discovered a true passion for education and hopes to expand his skills as not only a player but as a teacher.
