    About Andrew Gilstrap

    Andrew Gilstrap has been studying music since he was 5 years old. He started with piano lessons, then began singing in choirs in middle school. He started voice lessons at age 16, preparing to audition for university music programs.

    Andrew attended the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music, graduating as a Bachelor of Music in 2016 and a Master of Music in 2018. While there, he performed in myriad operas and musicals, both within the program and outside of it.

    Since graduating, Andrew has maintained an active performing career and voice studio. He has participated in several prestigious opera young artist programs, including the studios and apprenticeships at Wolf Trap Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Minnesota Opera, and the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. Recent engagements include Masetto in Don Giovanni with The Atlanta Opera, Il padre di Nencio in L’infedeltà delusa with the Bayerische Staatsoper, and Sourin in Pique Dame with Des Moines Metro Opera. He is currently based in Kennesaw, GA, where he lives with his lovely wife, Annie.
