    About Alyssa Byrne

As a violin/viola teacher, Alyssa Byrne is focused on creating and implementing her own pedagogical methods. By combining schools of thought from Shinichi Suzuki, Paul Rolland, Susan Kempter, and others, she strives to help students both develop solid technique and learn to express themselves through their instrument. Alyssa aims to create an individualized plan for every student, as no two students will learn in exactly the same way. Her students have gone on to win principal positions within their advanced school orchestras while retaining a love for the violin.

Alongside her teaching career, Alyssa has a promising career in performance. She has performed in a variety of concerts through the College of Music at University of Colorado Boulder as well as with an international orchestra in Prague. She has played in gigs around town and performs regularly in various chamber groups at her college. As she continues in her studies, Alyssa is developing a love for opera and pit orchestra and hopes to make such performing part of her career upon graduating.

Alyssa began her violin studies at age 7. Currently, she is studying under violinist Alex Gonzalez as she completes her bachelors’ degree in violin performance at CU Boulder.
