At this time of year, you have to give a lot of credit to music and it’s impact on our society. Playing songs of the season is a tradition in music that goes back farther than most. There has been a pretty consistent thread of traditional seasonal songs that hold fond memories for so many. That being said, break out some of those carols books, and change it up a little in the lessons time. If you are debating, go with a level that is right where you are, or a little lower that the current level of your playing. This keeps the holiday music fun and entertaining. There are only a few months to learn the music, also, so keeping it a little simple is a good strategy. Grandma and Grandpa will think it is WONDERFUL!

I STILL play from the same Christmas books I had as a student at my moms house for holiday gatherings! It really does make the grandparents light up 🙂
