    About William Bemiss

Will's journey with music began in elementary school and continues to this day. His favorite part about music is the never-ending pursuit of greater understanding.

Will started out on the clarinet in the school ensemble but was always most inspired by the music and mystique of classic rock. After seeing Van Halen in 2007, Will became a guitarist and has played religiously ever since. In his middle school ensemble, he made the switch to guitar and formed his first garage band with friends. Throughout high school, they wrote and recorded original music, where he began to develop a specialization in live performance.

As a high school senior, Will starred in his school's production of "Fiddler on the Roof," developing his talents as a vocalist and performer. In college, he was a member of an A Cappella group, continuing to practice singing and performance. Following college, Will played professionally in NYC as a solo artist in the Manhattan music scene. Moving back home during the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided to dedicate his life to a career in music.

Will formed a 3-piece band, taking on roles as the lead guitarist, singer, business manager, and primary songwriter. They achieved significant successes, including performances at some of New England's most prestigious music venues. He hosted a music event that became an epicenter of the music scene in northern New England, developing skills as an organizer, host, and teacher. Will began working with several up-and-coming talents in his orbit through lessons and instruction as well as professional support. He moved to Colorado in 2023, transitioned to the bass guitar, and has been playing in an 8-piece band since then.

Will has excelled in the role of a teacher in several capacities. He was an outstanding camp counselor for several years, responsible for a variety of activity instruction, supervision, and general child care. He has been a ski instructor for several seasons, proudly introducing hundreds of first-time skiers to the sport. He will be the music teacher at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Lakewood, CO during the upcoming school year.

Will believes that listening is the most crucial skill a teacher can possess. Every student has different abilities, interests, and needs, so a teacher needs to understand the student to have the most positive impact. His ultimate goal is to instill a love of music, as that passion for the art form will carry any student along their own musical journey. He's excited to get started!
