    About Wayne Smith

    Wayne Smith has been a musician and percussionist since a young age, and over the years developed a fun and entertaining style of playing the drums. Wayne has attended Montgomery College, in Rockville MD studying performance, theory, jazz, piano and percussion under prominent professors such as Dr. Dick Ecton.

    Wayne has worked with major label recording artists including; Elektra records - recording showcase and live performances. He is currently working with local bands, vocalists, and church choir groups and has been teaching independent lessons since 2000.

    Throughout the years, Wayne has developed into a fun and engaging music teacher. In terms of his teaching methods; Wayne incorporates drum rudiments to help students; build endurance, develop focus and memory and better coordination, as well as fine motor control. Teaching private lessons and group lessons, Wayne uses the Podemski's Snare drum method for theory and rudiment exercises.

    Besides teaching music, Wayne has studied music therapy and works as a cognitive trainer in psychology with children and young adults with ADD, ADHD, and Down syndrome.
