    About Toph Ehresman

A musician, performer, and educator from Austin, Toph Ehresman had the privilege of teaching music, dance, and theatre to children of all ages for 9 years. They studied at the University of Texas and performed in the Concert Chorale under the direction of Dr. Suzanne Pence and Dr. Joseph Bolin, as well as the Longhorn Singers under the direction of Dr. Sheryl Jones and Dr. Daniel Arredondo, produced by the Butler School of Music. Additionally, they performed with Conspirare under the direction of Dr. Craig Hella Johnson, Brazos Valley Chorale under the direction of Dr. Jess Wade, and in Neil Berg’s Phantoms of the Opera, directed by Tony award nominated Marc Kudisch.

Toph loves performing, and the opportunity to in a wide range of artistic outlets. Notable mentions include singing on Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics to a TV audience of over 1 million people, a principal role for 8 years with Ovation’s The Nutcracker at the Round Top Festival Institute, leading worship weekly at the Metropolitan Community Church of Austin for 6 years, as well as playing percussion for nearly 200 local musical performances in various venues and for many different companies.

Vocal performance has been their passion since the second grade school play where Mrs. Kendall gave Toph their first solo. That inspired them into finding a way to give children the confidence to use music to express themselves and make their voices heard. Toph’s goal is to cultivate an environment that allows a child to be creative and grows a lasting love of music, just like their teachers did for them growing up.

Outside of music, Toph enjoys taking their dog for a walk, hiking, paddle boarding, tennis, ping pong, disc golf, volleyball, gymnastics, dancing, and generally loves staying active. A self proclaimed nerd, they also love Star Wars, Pokémon, board games, and anime.
