Teah England is a Columbus, Ohio native who has proudly called Washington, D.C. home for nearly 12 years. She is a Music Educator who teaches Voice and Piano, as well as an active performer in the D.C. area.
As a young girl, Teah began singing for her grandmother's church and took her love of music into school, trying instruments but ultimately falling in love with singing as her primary area of study. She went on to perform locally in schools, churches and more across Columbus before deciding to pursue a career in music.
After High School, Teah moved to the District to attend Howard University, where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Music. Teah's main concentration was in Music Business, but she also completed a minor in Classical Voice, which allowed her to combine formal vocal training with industry knowledge. Her experience and education from Howard in the field of music has given her a well-rounded understanding of both the artistic and professional sides of music. A passionate vocalist, songwriter, and creative, she is deeply committed to helping artists grow in both confidence and artistry while developing a strong foundation within the music industry.
As an educator and mentor, Teah’s teaching philosophy centers on empowering vocalists and songwriters to reach their full potential. She emphasizes vocal technique, artistry, confidence, and professionalism, encouraging students to approach their craft with both passion and excellence. Teah also incorporates Piano study into her students' foundations, as learning to use the Piano as a tool gives students access to understanding Music Theory and the language of music early on. She works with beginner students on Piano as a stand-alone study as well. No matter the subject, Teah's goal is to create a supportive environment where artists can grow creatively while building the discipline needed for long-term success.
Outside of teaching, Teah is a NeoSoul singer/songwriter and background vocalist whose love for music continues to inspire her work. Whether performing, writing, or mentoring emerging artists, she brings authenticity, warmth, and a genuine passion for helping others discover their unique voice.
