Summer Green discovered music at a young age, which led her to Interlochen Arts Academy, an internationally recognised arts high school, where she graduated with a fine arts award in songwriting in 2018. During her time at Interlochen, Summer opened for names such as The Accidentals and Jonathan Richman. She also licensed an original song in a Spotify commercial with John & Partners Advertising. Summer then attended Los Angeles College of Music where she graduated with an associate's degree in songwriting in 2021. Summer is currently fronting her band, Summer Bedhead and performs as the lead guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. Summer's musical core is in rock music. Her originals sit in a space of folk, psychedelic, alt-rock, indie, and pop. However, going to a classically based music school has given her an appreciation for all music ranging from Opera to Jazz. In addition to being a musician, Summer is passionate about the music business and managing her band herself. Wanting to have a hand in everything related to her music, she also assists in mixing all of her releases giving her a good ear for music production and mixing.
Summer views teaching as a mutually beneficial learning experience, keeping her inspired to learn more while regularly checking in with the knowledge she already has and feeding off the excitement her students bring to lessons. Summer believes having fun with music is the most foundational relationship you can have with it, so it is at the center of her teaching.
Outside of her professional life, Summer enjoys supporting local bands, hanging out with her two cats, Tigeress and Luna, playing video games, and trying out all kinds of new healthy recipes! Raised in rural areas, Summer also likes to take a break from the city and camp out in the mountains when she has time. But one of her favorite things to do is to make her friends laugh with all kinds of funny voices and stories.
