Sofia Villegas graduated magna cum laude from Florida A&M University with a major in Voice Performance. She is from sunny West Palm Beach, Florida and has been involved in music all her life. She began her vocalist journey by joining her middle school choir in the 3rd grade, and she started out as the quietest one!
Sofia served as section leader during her collegiate career. This included assisting younger students with music theory homework, sight singing, and her preparing their solo repertoire. She has had the pleasure of performing in locations such as Central Park and the Rockefeller Center, and toured as a vocalist through Vienna, Austria. Sofia comes from a family of educators, and had the opportunity to work with kindergarten through second graders from a young age as a teaching assistant to her mother. She has experience tutoring young children in math, science, and reading as well as music. Sofia worked in the children's section of her local library, and has several years of experience as a nanny for young children.
Sofia believes that every student is unique. They each have their preferred method of learning, inspirations, and language that gets through to them. Lessons with Sofia are tailored specifically to that student, and she goes above and beyond for every single child. Sofia believes in open communication with her students and their parents, because we all share the same goal. Not only will your child be enriched with knowledge, but they will have fun!
