About Shuga Henry

Shuga Henry, a native of Jamaica, West Indies, is a singer, actress, writer, director, producer and teaching artist. Shuga has a deep-rooted passion for the performing arts and loves sharing her talents with the world. Some of her past credits include Evilene, Glinda and Aunt Em in The Wiz (FiddleHead Theatre Company), MotorMouth Maybelle in Hairspray (Marathon Little Theatre), Effie White in DreamGirls Revue (Jamibeth Productions) and Queenie in Showboat (Prather Entertainment). Shuga feels a strong responsibility to mentor and pass her knowledge on to each and every one of her students, helping them improve their vocal skills, gain confidence, and experience joy through the gift of music in lessons each week.
