    About Ryan Burks

Ryan Burks is a native Texan who began playing guitar, piano, drums, taking lessons, and performing rock, pop, and indie music in 2011. Growing up in Southlake, he graduated from Carroll Senior High School in 2017, where he played for four years in the jazz band, receiving all-region honors and playing in the orchestra for musical theater productions. Ryan graduated with honors from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Studies (Guitar Performance) in 2021, playing in guitar ensembles, lab bands, and more. Studying Jazz at UNT has given Ryan a strong foundation of music theory and improvisation.

He has toured and recorded for various bands performing at festivals such as SXSW and ACL in Texas and MoPop in Detroit, as well as venues nationwide including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, House of Blues, and Hard Rock Cafe. Ryan also plays regularly at local venues for weddings and events and on Sundays at church.

Ryan enjoys teaching and playing all styles of music from jazz to rock and everything in between. He loves to share his passion for music with students and has a strong desire to make learning fun.

He currently gives lessons in the North Texas area, providing guitar, piano, drums, and bass instruction from beginner to advanced levels.
