About Olivia Roumel

Olivia is a passionate music teacher with a diverse background in both education and real-world musical experience. She inspires her students through the power of music, nurturing each student’s unique voice and creativity while helping them explore their musical interests and develop essential skills.

With experience as a band leader, performer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Olivia brings her love for music into every lesson. Her educational journey began at Berklee College of Music, where she honed her craft in vocal jazz and songwriting, and continued at Naropa University in Boulder, where she deepened her understanding of music's emotive and expressive potential. At Naropa, she studied tools in mindfulness, self-inquiry, and improvisation, which help her create an atmosphere of patience, openness, and play in her lessons.

Outside of teaching, Olivia enjoys exploring Colorado’s beautiful landscapes through hiking, biking, camping, and peak-bagging, often bringing her guitar along to these inspiring settings. Her original music is deeply influenced by these experiences in nature. With seven years of teaching experience across all ages and skill levels, Olivia is dedicated to guiding students on their musical journeys. She focuses on helping them learn to read sheet music and develop ear training, drawing on her extensive collection of personalized resources and diverse repertoire to meet each student’s unique goals. Olivia is excited to inspire her students and help them find their own special place in the world of music.
