    About Ohmarx Paniagua

Ohmarx Paniagua was drawn to music from an early age. Growing up in a musical family in his native Peru, he taught himself guitar by ear at age 13 and played in his first band at age 16. In 2000-2001 Ohmarx studied music theory at Escuela Superior de Musica Condorcunca with a focus in classical guitar and folkloric Andean music. From 1995-2006 Ohmarx performed avidly in various popular rock and folk bands in his hometown, most notably Sol del Pueblo, Los Tarkas and La Hoja, while also teaching several private students acoustic and electric guitar out of his home. In Lima he collaborated with artist Criss Neral on his album "Spondylus" as a studio musician in 2006. After emigrating to the US, Ohmarx joined the Lawrenceville, GA-based rock band Urban Taboo on lead guitar in 2010 while also developing a home studio where he currently mixes and produces his original music, performing all of the instruments himself.

Ohmarx has always been passionate about music and couldn't imagine a life without it. Playing guitar is how he connects with his truest self and feels most at peace in the world. Whether it be while in school full-time, or later on working long hours as an Electrical Engineering Specialist at UPS, Ohmarx has always made the time in his busy schedule to play and teach. Even during extended business trips, he was never without a light travel guitar packed in his carry-on so that he could rehearse Urban Taboo's set list between shifts!

Ohmarx earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology from Kennesaw State University in 2018 and is currently pursuing a certificate in full stack web development from Georgia Tech. When he's not studying, teaching, or performing live with Urban Taboo, Ohmarx can be found spending time with his wife Amanda and their four-and-a-half-year-old rocker in training, Kai Julian.
