    About Nubia Causey

    Nubia Causey is a vocalist and composer from Atlanta, Georgia. She began singing at age 10 and started composing at age 16. She recieved a double major degree in Vocal Performance and Music Composition at Kennesaw State University. Nubia studied voice under professor Eileen Moremen and composition under Dr. Laurence Sherr. During her studies at Kennesaw State University she was able to become a well rounded musician with skills in opera theater, composition, music theory, music technology, piano, and many others.

    Nubia has been awarded and recognized as Most Outstanding Performer, Governor’s Honors Program Finalist in Voice, Kennesaw State University President’s List, KSU Student Leadership Award, Kennesaw State Honors Recital Recipient, and BSOM Composition Contest 2023 Winner. She has a lot of experience in not only classical performance but also musical theater. Nubia has performed in the following operas and musicals: Hansel and Gretel, Le Nozze di Figaro, Trial by Jury, Into the Woods, A Chorus Line, The Wiz and more. In addition to this, she has professional published compositions for symphony orchestra, piano trio, string quartet, brass quintet, and soprano art song.

    When Nubia is not teaching, performing, or writing music, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the gym, and playing video games. She aspires to perform all around the world and become a professional film score composer.
