    About Nori Stone

Born in China and raised in the Northern Virginia area (NOVA), Nori Stone has been playing violin since the age of seven. Nori studied violin under Diana LeGrand for the next 10 years. Nori was Concertmaster and featured soloist of the Falls Church High School Chamber Orchestra. She also achieved the position of Concertmaster of the District 10 Senior Orchestra. She concluded her high school career, winning the National Orchestra Award.

Nori graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from the University of Richmond (UR). While at UR, she studied violin under Susy Yim, and performed in the UR Symphony Orchestra and the UR Chamber Ensembles.

Outside of music, Nori’s other interests include drinking bubble tea with friends, watching Disney movies, and traveling. She really enjoyed her semesters studying abroad in South Korea and in Japan.

It is her goal as a teacher to create a welcoming learning space for her students: a space where they can have fun while they learn the violin. Having the opportunity to teach and share her love of the violin with others is, for her, a great honor.
